Dr Abubakar Hassan

Proposition

Dr. Abudakar Hassan is a lecturer of Economics in the University of Dundee's School of Business. Holding a PhD in Energy Economics from the Centre for Energy, Petroleum and Mineral Law & Policy in Dundee. His research cuts across climate change, energy transition and market regulation. Additionally, Dr. Hassan is a fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

Professor John Irvine CBE FRSE FRSC

Proposition

John Irvine CBE, FRSE, FRSC has made a unique and world-leading contribution to the science of energy materials, especially fuel cell and energy conversion technologies. Recognised by a number of national and international awards, including the honour of the Commander of the Order of the British Empire(CBE) in the Kings Birthday Honours List 2024. Professor Irvine is one of the leading experts globally regarding energy usage and fuel.

Ian Simm

Proposition

Ian Simm is a director at internationally accredited energy consultancy firm Wood Mackenzie. Specialising in asset acquisitions and business development across the oil & gas, renewables and industrial sectors in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Ian has worked with a wide range of high-profile clients within the sector.

Dr. Xiaoyi Mu

Proposition

Xiaoyi (Shawn) Mu is Professor of Energy Economics and currently Director of the Centre for Energy, Petroleum and Mineral Law and Policy (CEPMLP) and Academic Lead for Partnerships at the School of Humanities, Social Sciences and Law. Having published his book “The Economics of Oil and Gas” Professor Mu has held multiple positions advising and consulting in the oil and gas sector.
