Dr Lynn McNair OBE

Dr McNair is an Early Years Education expert, having been awarded an OBE for services to Early Education, and an award-winning author. She is a trained Froebelian, where she also discusses her work.

Ms Helen Gould

Ms Helen Gould

Ms Helen Gould is an experienced sensitivity reader and public speaker focusing on a wide range of literature, such as YA, historical fiction, and children's literature. She mainly focuses on issues of mixed heritage experiences, race, and anti-blackness. 

Dr Lauren Christie

Dr Lauren Christie

Dr Lauren Christie has an interest in bibliotherapy and children’s literature, a field in which she has completed a PhD. She currently works as an academic staff developer, organizing events, increasing continued development and training.

Professor Karen Sands-O'Connor

Professor Karen Sands-O'Connor

Karen Sands-O'Connor is Visiting Professor of Education at the University of Sheffield, where she is developing a study centre in inclusive children's books.  She has written several books about the history of children's books by and about Black British people, and consults for the British Library, the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals, and the Centre for Literacy in Primary Education.  She created the UK's first exhibition on children's books and Black Britain, which is currently touring the UK.
